Free Word Processing Software!

I hope I got your attention with that title. I know that the Library computers are split between the old Microsoft Office 2003 package and the new Microsoft Office 2007 package, which can cause some confusion (especially if you're using a different version at home). Although either edition can use the other in the Library (there are converters built into both versions), it can sometimes be difficult when bringing your work back and forth between school and home. I wanted to suggest a few FREE word processing programs that are available on the Internet.

You will have to sign up with a free account and possibly download some software, but the great thing about these programs is that they should be compatible with Word. So save your money and wait on buying that new Word package and try one of these websites to create FREE documents (most can also create slideshows, spreadsheets, and more!):

Zoho

AbiWord

OpenOffice
